Spring Weaving

I have been struggling a little bit with what I am planning to do this semester in my weaving class. I do have some plans on continuing a series of weavings of mine based around emotion and intuitive weaving. I know that this first project will not take long to make. So I was thinking about what weaving techniques I could expand on or maybe even exploring something new.

One of my favorite weavings that I made is based off some tulips that were growing in my backyard. I had experienced a rough couple of months, so it was nice to work on something that was not so emotionally heavy like my other work. This scarf that I worked on that I named Spring Tulips came from me wanting to create something that focused on pattern. It is a houndstooth plaid with a twill weave. I think this is a thread (pun intended, lol) that I would like to follow in the next couple of months. Not just to focus on pattern but to also throw in some other techniques like Sakiori Weaving. I was inspired by this lovely NHK World video discussing this form of weaving.
